Having A Few Family Issues.

I am still here......sorry to have gone off without notice. We have had a few family issues that I am still dealing with. My stepfather passed away March 26 and my husband unexpectedly had a pacemaker put in April 10, and they believe he may have muscular dystrophy, we are still waiting for the results. I have been a wreak but I am just doing the day by day along with my faith in God. I do miss you all very much.

The Ten Plagues

We have been studying the ten plagues in our Bible Study and I wanted to share this really cute song I found HERE. It has been a big help in our learning all the plagues. We have also been coloring many pictures from a bible coloring book I found at our local dollar store. Have any of you done posts about the ten plagues? I would love to see what you all have done. Happy Belated Birthday Dr Seuss

I wanted to post some of our pictures of our little Dr Seuss party we had. I love the hats the girls did, too cute.

Were Off On A Field Trip........

We are going on a field trip to learn about wind energy. In a county near us they have installed several wind turbines. They are suppose to give energy to 500 homes per one turbine. We will post pictures when we get back later today. (Did I mention that my family bought me a new camera for my birthday.......yea pictures finally)

What a fun field trip, I did forget to bring the hot cocoa though. We were able to meet a worker and he gave us some information on the wind turbines. We were also able to get up close and personal with these the massive machines. It was actually kinda scary to be right under them looking up. They are so huge!! Well we found out that there are 80 of them in the area and that they are 80 meters high. They also cost about 1.8 million dollars a piece and would pay for themselves in about 3 years. I believe one turbine will supply energy to about 500 homes annually. (What a lot of money....and money saved with wind energy.) They were really neat to see. On one of the pictures I think you can see about 20 turbines all along the landscape. We also saw them installing some with huge crains. DD8 asked the worker how long it took to get up to the top of the turbine, it was cute, he said for a fit person maybe 5 minutes and others about 15 to 20 minutes. It was a fun field trip day, enjoy the pictures.

Books We Are Planning On Reading

I found this free Little House In The Big Woods lapbook lesson. It took me forever to download it but it is really nice. (computer issues ......grrr) I am planning to read the book to the girls sometime and this was a realy nice thing to add to it. It has some cute projects in it to go along with the story.Also one of these days we are going to do Dr Seuss, here is a site to go check out for a few projects to do. I went to Kohls Dept. Store and purchased the 4 Dr. Seuss book along with the matching stuffed animals. They are so cute. Thanks Joann for the idea, she is doing a bunch of units, check out her blog here.
