First Aid Week

This week we will be learning about First Aid. I am having my middle daughter put a First Aid Kit together. She is reading a few books on the subject and I am planning mock injuries for her to take care of. September 22, 1920 was the anniversary of the invention of the Band-Aid.

I am also planning a Family Health Kit in the future. To go along with keeping healthy with this winters flu seasons and colds.

Our Woodworking Project

The look on her face (although blurry) says it all.

She just loves going to these woodworking classes. My sister and her daughter (right) came with us this time. The project was a bean bag toss game, it worked out really good that we now have two and the girls can play across from one another. Next month they are gonna be making firehouse piggy banks. I am going to incorporate the whole fire safety stuff that week for school.

Grandma came along too.

Just a reminder that this Saturday at the Home Depot they are having a free woodworking class for this month. Its called the Kids Workshop and they host them once a month. We started last month (check us out here) and the girls really liked it. I believe you can also purchase the kits and do them at home. It is free for the kit if you go there. They are very neat.

Nature Center

We visited our local Nature Center (which I never new existed....I don't get out much do I....lol) The girls really enjoy it. I did also....he he. We will be coming here more often and adding it to our nature learning. This place had so much information that we are all looking forward to going back. I also noticed that they had several hiking trails that look nice to explore. Wow all this in my own neighborhood and I didn't even know it. I am sure glad we found it. I will have to search more information for my area, you never know what jems are right outside your front door.
